A Historic Achievement for Regional Volleyball!

We are beyond proud to highlight the incredible accomplishments of the 15U Kootenay Zone 1 team at the BC Summer Games!

For the first time in over 20 years, our region has brought home a medal in Girls Volleyball, capturing the Bronze in a truly inspiring performance. This milestone is a testament to how far we’ve come as a Volleyball Region and marks a significant victory against the traditionally dominant Big 5 zones.

The Zone 1 team showed tremendous grit and determination throughout the tournament, coming back from a set down in the Quarters, stunning the eventual Gold medal winners in the Semis, and clinching the Bronze in a hard-fought match against Fraser Valley.

Huge thanks to FVC coach Andrea Reed, Nelson coach Michelle Hillaby, and all the BC Games staff and volunteers for their incredible support and effort. This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without you!

Congratulations to all our Zone 1 athletes for their remarkable efforts! Let’s continue to build on this success and strive for even greater heights. ❤
