AWARD CRITERIA
Each year, East Kootenay Volleyball Club offers two Community SPIKE (Sportsmanship, Performance, Integrity, Knowledge, and Excellence) Award opportunities to current or former EKVC athletes. Selection criteria is based upon exemplary leadership, sportsmanship, and service to EKVC, fellow athletes, school, and /or the community at large. Student-athletes recruited to post-secondary institutions to play volleyball may apply for this award, however recruitment status is not taken into consideration in the selection criteria/ process for this award and an application for both awards must be submitted to be considered.
A minimum of one Award will be awarded per year if the eligibility criteria are met.

Eligible applications will be reviewed for selection based upon Leadership, Service, Mentoring and Sportsmanship: (see Scoring and Qualifying Selection Criteria below.) *

Complete the Community SPIKE Award Application form. Forms are available below.
Include one letter of reference (teacher/coach/or personal)
Submit completed application and letter to awards@ekvcvolleyball.com
Completed Applications must be received by May 31st of the year of graduation
4. Selection Process:
Selection will be by EKVC Award Committee
The successful applicant(s) will be notified by email by June 15th
Public recognition of the Award Recipient will be noted on EKVC website and on social media with a photo and bio request.
5. Release of Funds Procedure:
Awards will be given in a single payment, issued by EKVC directly to the recipient by way of cheque in the recipient’s name.

Award applications in two different formats for ease of use. If one opens but the other doesn't use the one that opens. You do not need to submit both formats.
