About EKVC
- The EKVC was established in 1997. It has now grown to include all age
categories from 13-21 years of age for both men and women and generally has
a membership of over 100 athletes. The EKVC received official society satus
in November of 2004.
- The club season gives volleyball athletes an opportunity to further
develop their skills following their school season. The EKVC has also been
very fortunate to have a number of highly qualified coaches who have
volunteered their services.
- The teams compete against other volleyball clubs from throughout Alberta
and British Columbia culminating in a Provincial Championship and Open
National Championship.
- The EKVC club season varies in length depending on the availability of
coaches, athletes, gyms etc. Generally most age categories run from
mid-February until the National Championships in May.
- The EKVC has also started
Mini Volleyball
as an introduction to the basics of the game for those in grades 1 - 6.
- The EKVC is an important feeder system for the College of the Rockies
Avalanche
Volleyball Program. A number of EKVC athletes have contributed to the
success of the Avalanche Program in the past.
- The EKVC also offers scholarships to male and female athletes from the
EKVC who are attending a post-secondary institution and are members of that
volleyball program.
